BAXTER BLUE

Updated: Jul 15, 2021

Due to a pandemic, a lot of people were forced to work from home (WFH), meaning a lot more time on technology. This has seen me and many other's I know either have their eyesight deteriorate, not to mention cause eye strain, dry eyes, headaches, blurry and tired eyes. This has been one of the frustrating things that has come out of 2020.

As you may have guessed, all these symptoms are directly attributed to the screen glare and blue light that is emitted from technology. Obviously we can't go without technology, so we need to learn how to combat these symptoms.

Thankfully, I was introduced to Baxter Blue. They sell the most attractive non-prescription specks for an affordable price too. I absolutely love the ones I have selected: "GEORGIE".

Baxter Blue filter out almost 80% of the high energy blue light. Whilst during the day when some Blue light exposure is good, as it boosts attention, increases reaction times and most importantly in my opinion lifts your mood. However, at night, artificial blue light disrupts your circadian rhythm and the natural release of melatonin (the hormone that tells your mind and body when it's time to sleep and wake up) thus our sleep glasses are melatonin magic makers! As blue light tricks our brain into believing it's still daylight, falling asleep can be difficult and we don't sleep as deeply.

As I have discussed before in this day and age, we need to make conscious and responsible decisions in our every day lives to ensure we have a planet for our kids, our grandkids and the generations thereafter. Baxter Blue follows that ethos, and I quote "there's no excuse not to (be sustainable)". They have sustainable packaging which is recyclable, compostable and dissolvable, and doesn't shy away from being still so alluring to the eye. Following, they are proud for their charitable contributions, with every purchase made they give one with the organisation Restoring Vision. So far they have donated 108,002 glasses. You can read more about their amazing generosity here.
