Caramel Slice



  • 1 1/4 cup almonds

  • 1/4 flaxseeds

  • 1/2 cup medjool dates (soaked)

  • 1/4 cup walnuts


  • 1/4 cup nut spread

  • 1/4 cup tahini

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted & cooled)

  • 1/2 cup rice malt syrup

  • 1/2 cup organic cacao powder

  • PInch of salt

Chocolate Top:

  • 2/3 cup cacao butter

  • 1 1/2 cup rice malt syrup (can be less according to sweet preference)

  • 1/2 cup cacao powder

  • Pinch of salt


  1. Blend base all together - make sure that the medjool dates have been soaked, drained and are nice and soft

  2. Add water if required

  3. Pat down in a lined tray

  4. Mix caramel ingredients together - ensure that coconut oil is cooled

  5. Add to try

  6. Make chocolate by placing all ingredients into medium pot and cooking over medium heat until a deep chocolate silky texture

  7. Allow chocolate to cool a little bit and then add to the slice

  8. Freeze half way, take out and cut, place back in freezer and leave in over night or for a few hours (you want the chocolate to be hard)

  9. Serve for consumption

  10. Store in fridge
