As you may have read on my recent instagram post, I was diagnosed with internal endometriosis (formally known as adenomyosis) at the end of last year. After years of changing pills, and nothing working for the symptoms. When the diagnosis hit, it was a relief to know that it wasn't in my head and there was a name for everything I was experiencing. As over 10 different synthetic pills hadn't worked, which the last saw me without a period for a year, consuming 2 pills every day, I was told the next step of treatment was the Mirena.
Part of me wanted to say yes I will take it, if it allows me to live a pain free, pill free life, however it was just one synthetic hormone exchange to another. And if you are reading this, please do not think that the next course of treatment plan I took is for everyone, I was just sick and tired of being on a hamster wheel, literally being treated like a lab rat. Not knowing what long term issues would occur from my long term use of contraceptives. Obsviously this is not for everyone and each to their own. My main objective was to limit the toxic and synthetic uses, I consumed and used topically in my life. And absolutely if this treatment plan (which I will explain to you next) is not going to work longterm, I was hopping on the Mirena bandwagon.
It's been over 2 years now and I have not felt better in my adult life! Synthetic contraceptives be gone!
Since, I have been on a journey of discovery when it comes to finding the most effective, natural remedies to help with my endometrial pain, lethargy, bloating, weight gain and PMS - just to name a few symptoms, I have come across endless amounts of research. Over the course of last few years alone, and the creation of Ask Elizabeth, I listened to a number of expert speakers, and researched, researched, researched about adenomyosis, endometriosis, menstrual cycles, symptoms attributed to it, natural remedies and countless other google searchers. Which is when I learnt and created 2 of the 3, top 3 things, and have since implemented them into my life:
Femme was created by myself to help support women. It contains Raspberry Leaf, Chamomile Flowers, Ginger Root and Liquorice Root.
Chamomile flowers are known for having flavonoids and antioxidant properties and has been known for many years to help with sleep and supplementary so too anxiety. Chamomile is also known to help with pain, including those associated with labour.
According to research, raspberry leaf has the ingredient fragarine, biophysical effects to smooth uterus and pelvic muscles, helping to decrease cramping. It's a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, specifically containing vitamin B and C, and iron, zinc, potassium, phosphorus as well as magnesium minerals. The antioxidant polyphenols is found in raspberry leaf, which include subgroups tannins and flavonoids. These metabolites have two powerful objectives which include: perform as antioxidants within the body as well as safeguard cells from getting damage. There is also some research pertaining to these leaves having carcinogenic benefits, plainly helping with fighting off cancer cells. Raspberry leaf tea has been known to help with PMS symptoms, including diarrhoea, cramping and nausea. Also as it is an antioxidant, males can also use this! So win!
Ginger Root is known to help with pain and digestion.
Liquorice Root for PCos, infertility, constipation & reflux.

DIVINE WOMAN
Divine Woman is one of Kissed Earth's mushroom blends. As implied, this product is for all the women! YAY! We need all the help we can get. I speak from experience as I say that, because every day is different when it comes to hormones - do not even get me started about when we are menstruating! Personally this has helped me with my own body. Divine Woman is made from Poria Mushrooms and Botanicals, including Angelica Root, Goji Berry, Jujube, Schisandra, Asparagus, Rehmannia Root and White Peony.
It is great for pre-menstrual symptoms such as fluid retention, swelling and bloating. Not to mention it is also a bit of a sedative as well, aiding in calming the mind, reducing palpitations and the nervous system. Schisandra is an adaptogen, helping to protect the body from stress, lifting ones mood and assisting with focus and concentration, ultimately reducing brain fog. Angelica Root moves and nourishes the blood, reducing stagnation. Ultimately helping us function during our periods and minimising pain. Goji is very nourishing, powerful antioxidant that is also neuroprotective. Rehmmannia Root is known to be good for people with PCOS and Endometriosis.
I am not exaggerating when I say that this mushroom blend has been responsible for helping me with how heavy my period is, swelling and bloating, lethargy, and I am not exhibiting as much PMS symtoms as usual. As with all supplements, it may take up to a few months for there to be some effects. I was taking it every day for about 2 months, before I found out to just use it during the week of your period. But I can't stress enough the need to use it properly. You won't see the amazing benefits if you are not strict. Start with half a teaspoon and increase your tolerance to a full teaspoon, once per day. As its not the best tasting, I add it to my hot chocolate so I don't taste it.

PURIFY
This combination I came across during a talk by Nat Kringoudis. She stated this is a great way to detoxify the liver and more specific to this topic, help with balancing our hormones. The way in which this mix has the power to excrete hormones and other toxins, is known as the conjugation pathway. This process helps people who do not have the best diet to clean the liver, and for those taking contraceptives and even IVF, to help the liver function properly once again. Following, it is known that fibre (like the four mix) has the ability to bind to hormones such as testosterone and oestrogen, thus this is a superb way to say goodbye once and for all to those unwanted nasties.
Nat Kringoudis has listed a few issues which could be of benefit from this easy treatment:
+ Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) or PCO (and all it’s associated symptoms including facial hair and acne)
+ Post pill/mirena/implanon amenorrhea
+ Ovulation pain and period pain
+ PMS – anxiety, depression, sore breasts, headaches in the lead up to the period
+ Endometriosis/Adenomyosis
+ Fibroids and other growths like polyps
+ Weight gain
Further, this mix inadvertently helps with gut health. Aside from each ingredient being a fibre it also has pre-biotic factors, which its main aim is to assist with the continuation of good bacteria. Flaxseed is known to have high values of lignans. It has been found that consuming flaxseed on a daily basis has been found to reduce cholesterol and chances of getting endometrial and breast cancers, as well as helps to protect the heart whilst lowering blood pressure. Whilst Chia Seeds helps with weight loss, boosting the metabolism, also helps to fight cervical and breast cancers, energy booster, just to name a few.
I add this to my hot chocolates, breakfasts or smoothies but you could also dilute it in water or juice. All you need is a teaspoon!!
So these are the three things I use to help with my uterine health, if you would like to try them for yourself feel free to. I would love to hear your results!! As with all the health related suggestion blogs this is only what I do for myself, I am not a nutritionist, naturopath or general practitioner. Therefore if you want to advice prior to consumption consult your doctor.

Aside from these top 3 things you should really look at switching your coveniential products to natural alternatives. I've gone through the process of finding the best substitutes and now sell them on my website.
I could talk further about things to help with supporting your overall hormonal and holistic health but my advice to you is to follow me on Instagram as I share my life and learnings there: @_askelizabeth.
